stock_5.jpgAn alternative to chemical peels, dermaplaning is becoming a popular choice for deep exfoliation. Using a sterile scalpel and gentle touch, we lightly shave the surface of your face. Dermaplaning removes the superficial layers of skin and the fine hairs on your face, which often trap dirt and oils in the follicles. By removing the hair, you will prohibit future breakouts and have healthier-looking skin. Likewise, any topical products applied to your face will penetrate to a deeper level.

Dermaplaning is a great exfoliation treatment for women who are pregnant and cannot receive any chemical peels or treatments; patients who have excess hair on the face; patients with mild acne scars; and those with dry skin or hyperpigmentation.

There is no downtime associated with dermaplaning, so patients can resume their normal activities. We do require patients to wear a medical-grade sunscreen to protect the skin. We recommend scheduling another dermaplaning procedure whenever the facial hair starts to grow back, which is usually between 4 and 6 weeks.

If you are interested in dermaplaning, please schedule a consultation appointment!
